Orleans Firebirds Summer 2012 Internships
The Orleans Firebirds Internship Program is a great way for college level students to acquire credits and experience, while learning the basics of how a baseball organization runs. The Firebirds internship program has been successful throughout its history in providing interns with industry experience in a fast paced environment. Our program provides a number of students with an overall learning experience to include such areas as: Broadcasting, Community Relations, Baseball Operations, Sponsorship, Marketing, Communications, the writing of press releases, as well as many other areas.
In addition, Firebirds interns will work each home game as part of our Firebirds Game Day Staff. This creates an opportunity for the interns to interact with fans and to apply what they have learned to actual game time situations.
The Orleans Firebirds and the Cape Cod Baseball League are highly respected and carry themselves with the utmost professionalism in what we do. We are in search of highly competitive, highly motivated individuals who have a strong interest in the field of sports broadcasting/management.
Internship Requirements
Interns are required to work all 22 home games arriving 1 hour and 30 minutes before game time (5:30) and stay until the game ends. The season starts June 14th and there will be training 3-4 days prior. The season can extend until mid-August depending on how far the Firebirds go in the playoffs. Internships are unpaid, although you may be able to receive credit, but that is determined by your school. All interns must also provide their own housing and transportation.
How to apply?
Interested applicants should send a resume and cover letter to Internship coordinator Brian Ruhlmann (moc.liamgnull@nnamlhurnairb). Broadcasters should include experience levels and demo tapes are preferred.
Deadline: We are currently collecting resumes from applicants. Interviews will be conducted through the end of March and a hiring decision will be made by early April.
